SIGNATUR sweater is crocheted from the top down. We´ll begin with the folded, high, rib neck, which is crocheted sideways. Please watch the video tutorial, on the techniques used in this pattern, on my Instagram - CLICK HERE!

Let´s begin:

Begin with hook 3,5 mm and color 1 (main color).

Chain 30+1.

1. Rw. 30 sc, 1 ch, turn.

2. Rw. 30 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY), 1 ch, turn.

3. Rw. 30 sc, (BACK LOOP ONLY), 1 ch, turn.

4. Rw. 30 sc, (BACK LOOP ONLY), 1 ch, turn…

Continue, like this, until you have:

96, 102, 108, 114, 120 rows (NOT counting the first "row" of 30+1 ch).

Close the neck piece with 30 ss (through BOTH loops (so that it becomes a tube)), crochet 1 ch.

Fold the neck tube in half, keeping the seam inwards.

SWITCH TO HOOK 4.0 MM.

Crochet a round of sc along the edges of the neck tube, going through BOTH layers. Make sure you DON`T crochet it too tight. Finish off by doing 1 ss in the first st in the round, then do 1 ch.

Try the neck tube on over your head, to make sure that it´s not too tight. If it doesn´t fit – go up a size. There should be a total of 96, (102), 108, (114), 120 stitches in the round.

How to crochet the body: In the round mark 4 "corners" with stitch markers. In the round you will do 1 single crochet in each stitch, and you will do 3 single crochets in the 4 "corners". Then you´ll move the stich marker to the middle stitch of the 3, this stitch is now the new "corner". You can see me demonstrate this technique in a video tutorial on my Instagram (@iinstagarn). In the video I also demonstrate how to get a nice straight seam and how to change between colors.

Place the stitch markers in the following stitches:

For size XS: place the stitch markers in 16th St, 33rd St, 64th St & 81st St. You should have two short sides with 16 stitches BETWEEN each corner and two long sides with 30 stitches BETWEEN each corner (and in the middle of one of these long sides (which will become the back of your sweater), you´ll have the seam).

For size S: place the stitch markers in 17th St, 35th St, 68th St & 86th St. You should have two short sides with 17 stitches BETWEEN each corner and two long sides with 32 stitches BETWEEN each corner (and in the middle of one of these long sides (which will become the back of your sweater), you´ll have the seam).

For size M: place the stitch markers in 18th St, 37th St, 72nd St & 91st St. You should have two short sides with 18 stitches BETWEEN each corner and two long sides with 34 stitches BETWEEN each corner (and in the middle of one of these long sides (which will become the back of your sweater), you´ll have the seam).

For size L: place the stitch markers in 19th St, 39th St, 76th St & 96th St. You should have two short sides with 19 stitches BETWEEN each corner and two long sides with 36 stitches BETWEEN each corner (and in the middle of one of these long sides (which will become the back of your sweater), you´ll have the seam).

For size XL: place the stitch markers in 20th St, 41st St, 80th St & 101st St. You should have two short sides with 20 stitches BETWEEN each corner and two long sides with 38 stitches BETWEEN each corner (and in the middle of one of these long sides (which will become the back of your sweater), you´ll have the seam).

Now we will crochet in rounds. Every round ends with a slip stitch into the first single crochet stitch (not the chain stitch) in the round. Every round begins with a chain stitch & then a single crochet IN THE SAME stitch. This is important in order to achieve an even seam. I demonstrate this in the video tutorial on my instagram - CLICK HERE!

Every round consists of a single crochet in each stitch, except for the 4 corners, in which we will make 3 single crochets. The stitch marker is then moved to the middle of the 3 single crochets each round. Again – please watch the video tutorial in which I demonstrate this. Change between the two colors at the beginning of a round, with the chain stitch.

Crochet following:

4 rnds. in color 1 (the round we did in color 1 to close the neck tube does NOT count)

2 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

3 rnds. in color 2

2 rnds. in color 1

1, (2), 3, (4), 5 rnds. in color 2

4 rnds. in color 1

2 rnds. in color 2

1, (2), 3, (4), 5 rnds. in color 1

4 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

1 rnds. in color 2

2, (3), 4, (5), 6 rnds. in color 1

3 rnds. in color 2

6 rnds. in color 1

4 rnds. in color 2

1 rnds. in color 1

2, (3), 4, (5), 6 rnds. in color 2

1 rnds. in color 1

Now we will separate body from the sleeves. Single crochet all the way to the first corner, then do 10 chain stitches, continue with single crochets from the next corner (skip the short side, this is now the "hole" where you will continue the sleeve later), single crochet all the way to the 3rd corner, do 10 chain stitches, continue with single crochets from the last corner (skip the short side, this is now the "hole" where you will continue the second sleeve later), single crochet all the way to the seam. This is now your round, in which you will do one single crochet in each stitch, there are no longer any corners.

Crochet following rounds:

2 rnds. in color 1

1 rnd. in color 2

4 rnds. in color 1

3 rnds. in color 2

2, (3), 4, (5), 6 rnds. in color 1

5 rnds. in color 2

1 rnds. in color 1

2 rnds. in color 2

5, (6), 7, (8), 9 rnds. in color 1

1, (2), 3, (4), 5 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

4 rnds. in color 2

2 rnds. in color 1

3 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

Still in color 1, crochet one round with a decrease between every two stitches, so that your total of stitches in the round is cut in half.

Now we will crochet the ribbed edge on the bottom of the body of the sweater. This is done sideways. Don't fasten off yet! SWITCH TO A 3,5 MM HOOK.

Do 20+1 ch, turn.

1. Rw. 20 sc, ss into the next stitch on the body, ss into the next stitch on the body, turn.

2. Rw. 20 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY), 1 ch, turn.

3. Rw. 20 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY), ss into the next stitch on the body, ss into the next stitch on the body, turn.

4. Rw. 20 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY), 1 ch, turn…

Continue like this all the way around the body of the sweater, close the ribbed edge with 20 slip stitches from the back/inside of the sweater (through both loops). Fasten off.

Now we will finish the sleeves.

SWITCH BACK TO 4.0 MM HOOK. Using color 1.

Fasten the yarn at the middle of the bottom of the sleeve "hole". Now we will crochet rounds of one single crochet in each stitch, just like we did the body, except we will do ONE DECREASE each round. I have done my decreases on either side of the seam (alternating each round) so that the seam stays straight.

Crochet following rounds (they should match the stripes done on the body):

2 rnds. in color 1

1 rnd. in color 2

4 rnds. in color 1

3 rnds. in color 2

2, (3), 4, (5), 6 rnds. in color 1

5 rnds. in color 2

1 rnds. in color 1

2 rnds. in color 2

5, (6), 7, (8), 9 rnds. in color 1

1, (2), 3, (4), 5 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

4 rnds. in color 2

2 rnds. in color 1

NO MORE DECREASES FROM NOW ON.

3 rnds. in color 2

4 rnds. in color 1

2 rnds. in color 2

1 rnd. in color 1

5 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

1 rnd. in color 2

5 rnds. in color 1

3 rnds. in color 2

2 rnds. in color 1

4 rnds. in color 2

3 rnds. in color 1

Still in color 1, crochet one round with a decrease between every two stitches, so that your total of stitches in the round is cut in half.

Now we will crochet the ribbed edge on the bottom of the sleeves. This is done sideways. Don't fasten off yet! SWITCH TO A 3,5 MM HOOK.

Do 40+1 ch, turn.

1. Rw. 40 sc, ss into the next stitch on the sleeve, ss into the next stitch on the sleeve, turn.

2. Rw. 40 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY, except for the LAST stitch (BOTH LOOPS)), 1 ch, turn.

3. Rw. 40 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY, except for the FIRST stitch (BOTH LOOPS)), ss into the next stitch on the sleeve, ss into the next stitch on the sleeve, turn.

4. Rw. 40 sc (BACK LOOP ONLY, except for the LAST stitch (BOTH LOOPS)), 1 ch, turn…

Continue like this all the way around the sleeve, close the ribbed edge with 40 slip stitches from the back/inside of the sleeve (through both loops). Fasten off.

Repeat the sleeve process on the other side (obviously)…
